Scottsdale Desert Mountain’s Jakob Goldfarb and Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor’s Marco Burgarello are one of four finalists for the New Balance Game Changer Award, which recognizes high school athletes on and off the field with an emphasis on community service.
The winner receives a $10,000 scholarship and $2,500 in New Balance product to donate to a charity of his choice. The winner will be selected by Facebook votes, and you can vote for Goldfarb and Burgarello — or one of the other finalists, if so moved — here.
Baseball America recently profiled each of the finalists. Its piece on Goldfarb, who is committed to Oregon, can be found here. Burgarello’s is here.
Voting began today and ends August 5. The winner will be announced at the Area Codes Games in California on August 7.
